My Early Struggle With Fungal Acne
Discovering fungal acne at a young age was a challenge, compounded by my naturally oily skin, which bestowed a youthful appearance but made me susceptible to this persistent issue.
Puberty Makes Everything Worse
As puberty hit, the surge in oil production aggravated my fungal acne, leading to severe skin discoloration and a considerable blow to my self-confidence. The coexistence of acne vulgaris and fungal acne, coupled with scarring, marked a distressing phase. I suffered from fungal acne on my chest, upper arms, and back, so I never wore sleeveless tops.
Time to Seek Professional Help
Multiple dermatologist visits yielded treatments primarily focused on bacterial acne, involving oral and topical antibiotics, steroids, and laser therapies. Unfortunately, these approaches exacerbated my fungal acne, leaving my skin uneven and prone to daily breakouts.
Desperate Measures
Even a 5-month stint with Accutane, under a dermatologist’s recommendation, brought no relief. My complexion remained uneven, marked by light and dark patches, while daily breakouts persisted.
Makeup as a Mask
The struggle led me to rely on heavy makeup to conceal breakouts, inadvertently worsening my condition. The fear of being seen without foundation became a constant concern.

Disappointed with traditional treatments, I embarked on my journey of research and development, determined to create a solution that would finally work for me.
